Dawn’s Family Photo Archive - H. B. Macy Gas Station

Harold Byford Macy (1901-1983), my grandfather, is pictured here pumping gas at the station he owned on Main Street in Decatur, Indiana, circa early 1920’s. I was intrigued recently to run across this photo since I have been thinking of upgrading my personal vehicle to a hybrid/electric model. One hundred years of dependence on oil for transportation makes me think it’s really overdue and more than time for a change.
